Abstract

Tomato development in the lowlands is solution to increase tomato production in Indonesia. Planting tomatoes in the lowlands reduce the yields of tomato. Genotype selection using the right criteria can help obtain tomato genotypes with high production in the lowlands. This study aims to determine the appropriate selection criteria for tomatoes with high production in the lowlands. This study used a randomized block design with three replications. The results showed that several characters had a significant correlation with fruit weight per plant. Determination of selection criteria based on characters that have high heritability values with a significant correlation to fruit weight per plant. The characters of fruit length, weight per fruit and plant crown width have very significant correlation values with fruit weight per plant, so these three characters can be used as selection criteria.
