This study aims to describe the philosophical foundation of the Tabot dance at the Sanggar Seni Semarak Persada (S3P) in Bengkulu City. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method using interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results obtained in this study are, the Tabot dance is a creative dance that originates from the Tabot ritual, which is a ritual originating from Islam Syiah, but has grown and developed into a typical culture of the people of Bengkulu City.Various sites in the Tabot are symbolically arranged into a new dance, namely the Tabot dance. This Tabot Dance is performed every year in the celebration of Tabot and several other major events both inside and outside the city of Bengkulu. Tabot dance is a group dance performed by more than 2 people. The clothes used are the development of Bengkulu traditional clothing. There are three values contained in the Tabot dance, namely religious, historical, and social values. Keywords: Philosophical Foundation, Tabot Dance, Art Studio
