Abstract

Extracurriculars are educational activities carried out by students outside the standard curriculum learning hours as an extension of curriculum activities and carried out under the school's guidance to develop students' personalities, talents, interests, and abilities more broadly. They must be maintained by continuing to explore and look for students with potential and talent in athletics from year to year through extracurricular activities. Sports achievements must begin with planned, continuous training. Previously, in the Junior High Schools only conducted formality tests and ignored several supporting factors that could determine which athletic fields their students should be engaged in. The test results tend to be less objective because there are no other supporting factors. The application of artificial intelligence can be a solution to this problem. A decision support system can be applied in making a choice. One of the artificial intelligence methods that can be used is the Profile Matching method. The Profile Matching process is carried out to determine athletic extracurricular recommendations, consisting of three branches: running, throwing, and jumping, by considering factors such as the strength of the arm and leg muscles and the anthropological aspects of the student's body. This system is used to assist extracurricular athletic coaches in determining students' athletic talents. The selection process results are a score as a recommendation for decision-makers to assess which extracurriculars are suitable for students. The final calculation of the total value of each aspect is determined to be 80% for the strength aspect and 20% for the anthropometric element, with the percentage of the calculation success being 100%.
